Ayman Al Zawahiri

In this episode Adam draws on the book The Road to Al-Qaeda to talk about the background of Al-Qaeda's leading figure, Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri. The books author, Egyptian human rights lawyer Montasser Al-Zayyat, was a friend of al-Zawahiri and provides unique insight into his radicalisation and turn to violence.

Adam and Richard then discuss al-Zawahiri's role in the 9/11 attacks and his relationship with the CIA and NATO as described by whistle-blowers such as Sibel Edmonds. Has he been an asset, witting or otherwise, all along?
