A velvet-antlered buck strolled into my backyard like he owned the place, and I knew he knew where my garden was. I tossed my walking staff to scare him off, but he didn’t flinch. So, I did what any logical gardener would do... I grabbed my guitar. Deer really don't like my music. I ended up picking some well-earned garden goodies: zucchini, squash, jalapeños, and cucumbers. The tomatoes will be ready in about two weeks.

Red Fox Kits are playing to establish the hierarchy. This was a long shot, but I got closer at the end of the video without them seeing me. This was fun to watch.

The coyote lurked along the side of the pond eyeing the geese and their goslings, but they had seen the coyote and knew the danger. The struggle for survival begins. Who will emerge victorious?

The pair of Canadian geese are protecting their two goslings from the inquisitive white-tailed deer. Onlookers are a pair of mallard ducks, a Grackle, and a barely visible rabbit.

So, what is the difference between a woodchuck and a groundhog? They’re the same type of animal (Genus and species: Marmota monax). The differing common names likely come from different etymologies from around the world. The animal was called wejack, woodshaw and woodchoock by some Native American cultures. Its scientific name for species (monax) is likely derived from a Native American word for "the digger."
