The Firmament — Dome or Expanse?

In the creation account in Genesis, we read (in the KJV and the NKJV) that God placed a firmament between the waters below and the waters above. Is this firmament a solid dome (associated with a flat earth) or an infinite expanse (associated with a globe)? In this study we shall see that the Bible presents clear testimony on this subject.
