Ives Gammell suggests that the term impressionism really could cover all work done directly from what one sees before him and attempts to express that truthfully he creates difficulties for those who see Impressionism as explicitly the Monet formula. This is a brief comparison of a real Monet imitator, Henri Hensche, with ‘impressionism’ taken more broadly.
