the glider encountered a big and powerful shark that disabled it during a Sunday night attack. The shark’s aggression left the glider adrift, unable to steer, and communication with the rudder module was lost. Despite this setback, the glider’s location remained known throughout the ordeal.

The aftermath revealed teeth marks and punctures all over the glider’s “thrudder,” which is a combination of a thruster and a rudder. Remarkably, the shark managed to penetrate more than three millimeters into the solid aluminum base of the glider. The bite marks ruled out a porbeagle shark, leaving experts to suspect it was either a mako, a great white, or perhaps even a tiger shark. These sharks are commonly found in the area.

The reasons behind the attack remain speculative. It could have been triggered by noise from the propellers, electronic signals, or even a taste test to determine if the glider was edible. Interestingly, the glider’s bright “yum yum yellow” color might have attracted the shark’s attention.
