The Church was NOT Built Upon St. Peter!

St. Peter is NOT the "Rock" of Matthew 16:18! So declared 'Catholic' journalist Dr. Jules Gomes. Can a Catholic or in fact ANY Christian deny that Jesus Christ founded His Church on Peter when he changed Simon's name to Rock? How can we answer those who 'studied history' and 'the scriptures' only to reach the conclusion that The Very Foundation of the Church is based on a Lie?
