Did the Internet Increase stupidity?

Sorry, upfront, about being in your face in this video... setting were off.

Did the internet, despite, increasing access information and connectivity, actually make us stupid? Was the gain in the beneficial aspect offset by much more sophisticated propaganda delivery and surveillance used in a Machiavellian way, by those more interested in self gain and benefiting their peers?
