Does Pete Alonso know that it’s a contract year? Because he signed with Scott Boras, he intends the Free Agent market and get every dollar he can. But he has to hit first. The Mets need him to hit. And they need Jeff McNeil to hit as well. And they need to keep Joey Wendle on the bench. And they need Jett Williams or Acuna to come up. They need a whole host of things, starting with Alonso’s bat coming alive.
