Canelo Alvarez (61 2-2) beat the young talented star Jaimie Munguia (41-1) on Saturday 4th May 2024. As a result of this dominant performance by Canelo Alvarez Jaimie Munguia suffered his first ever loss as a professional. This was also the first time two fighters born in Mexico competed for an undisputed championship, and the first super middleweight title fight featuring two fighters born in Mexico.
