Russian presidential inauguration 2024, highlights

#Russian President Vladimir Putin was sworn in for an historic fifth term in a ceremony in #Moscow today. The inauguration was held at the Grand Kremlin Palace in front of representatives from both chambers of parliament and the Constitutional Court.
Putin took an oath to serve the nation and its people with one hand on a special copy of the constitution, the same ceremony taken by presidents since 1996, and four previous times by Putin himself. Upon being sworn in by Chief Justice Valery Zorkin, Putin urged Western countries to ‘look for a path of cooperation and peace’ as he addressed the nation.
