Has Anyone Ever Really Seen (the Virgin) Mary?

Some people have claimed that they have seen a vision of Mary - the mother of Jesus Christ. Each year, thousands of people make pilgrimmages to locations where Mary has supposedly been seen. There are statues and shrines erected in the reverence and worship of Mary. Does any of this make any Biblical sense? Is it even possible for anyone to have seen her?
