Hexagonal Roof Bee Removal

These bees have been here awhile. I hav to cut the toenailed nails to remove the front cap. This was to short to use a ladder but to talk to just stand there. Was able to use my long knife to cut the comb and slip under the bottom and pull it to where I could grab the comb. I filled 5 frames of brood comb. When I dropped the bees off at my yard, they all flew up to a branch about 10’ up but eventually came back to the box since I had their comb in there and a few stuck around to fan the Nasonov pheromone to tell the others where their new home is.
