Introduction to Hallucinations

An hallucination is “an experience involving the apparent perception of something not present.” But how do we know it isn’t present?
- Because other people say it isn’t there?
- Because it doesn’t fit our beliefs of what should be there?
Hallucinations are a major category of spiritual experience, with literally hundreds of thousands on our website. So it behoves us to study them further. And in doing so, this video describes the work of Dr David Chalmers and "the hard problem of consciousness". As Dr Chalmers has said "How does the water of the brain turn into the wine of consciousness". The video also provides an overview of the types of hallucination - Tactile hallucinations, Olfactory hallucinations, Gustatory hallucinations, Visual hallucinations and Audible hallucinations thus providing an overview for each of the Playlists in this section.
