Written and adapted for television by Pinborough herself, the series is directed by the acclaimed Icelandic filmmaker Börkur Sigthorsson. Leading the cast is the BAFTA-nominated actress Vicky McClure, known for her captivating performances in "Line of Duty" and "Broadchurch."

Emma (McClure), a seemingly successful woman, experiences a terrifying descent into sleeplessness. For two agonizing weeks, she is plagued by insomnia, leading to disturbing hallucinations and a fragile grasp on reality. As the lines between wakefulness and sleep blur, Emma embarks on a desperate search for the truth. This journey forces her to confront a dark secret from her past, one that threatens to unravel her present and expose a web of hidden family trauma.
