Will the Real Mom Step Forward

Today we celebrate motherhood as a nation. This gives us a great opportunity to formally express gratitude to our mom’s for their love and self-sacrifice. I personally will join with tens of millions of Americans this afternoon and call my precious mother and tell her how great she is. I will also witness my children blessing my godly wife, Angela, with words of praise for being a super mom.

Today I would like to look at a nonconventional biblical text for our Mother’s Day sermon. Turn in your Bibles with me to I Kings 3:16-28. The immediate context of this passage is King Solomon trying to discern who the real mom of a child is.
