Michigan Judge supports local business against health mandate overreach

In a significant legal victory for local business owners, 46th Circuit Court Judge Colin Hunter ruled on Thursday, May 2nd, 2024, that certain health code statutes enforced by the Health Department of Northwest Michigan are unconstitutional. The ruling pertains to Michigan Compiled Laws 333.2453 and 333.2451, among others, which were challenged by the owner of Iron Pig, a popular barbecue restaurant.
