McDougal says she's coming forth to say I'm sorry for affair, not for publicity

Just days before the election, The Wall Street Journal published details of the deal with America Media that paid McDougal for the story, then killed it.

McDougal then spoke out herself to CNN last month, just days after filing her lawsuit against America Media.

In that interview, McDougal alleged Trump tried to pay her for sex.

“After we had been intimate, he tried to pay me, and I actually didn’t know how to take that,” she said of her sexual encounter with Trump over a decade ago.

McDougal told the New York Times she currently has no plans to re-sell her story
