Testing for Lead in Black Rubber Feed Bowls

About a week ago I saw this video at @AcresOfAdventure

In which he was talking about possible lead continuation coming from the ubiquitous Black Rubber Feed Bowls that most of us use.

I ran my own test using common well water test strips that I had on hand, and those strips showed a hazardous level of lead. I then posted a video warning folks of this hazard on my channel and shared it on BackYardChickens.com

I received a lot of useful suggestions regrading my 'unscientific testing' and this video is an attempt to retest more accurately.

After posting my initial and then conflicting test results, I was made aware of this study:

which basically points out that any At Home Lead Testing Kit is pretty much useless.

So, after significant time and effort, the results are inconclusive, and I can neither confirm nor deny the presence of lead in these black rubber bowls.

Hopefully someone with the proper scientific equipment can test a variety of these bowls and answer the questions regarding their safety.
