Rebecca Charles – A Voice for the Voiceless
Rebecca's story goes beyond personal determination; it's a call for responsibility and ethical reform in healthcare.
Rebecca's life took an unexpected and tragic turn on August 28, 2021, when her daughter, Danielle Alvarez—a 28-year-old with special needs, having been injured at birth—was admitted to Northwell Health Hospital. Danielle, who was recovering from flu-like symptoms possibly related to COVID-19, was subjected to what Rebecca describes as a series of medical injustices. Over 40 days, Danielle experienced what Rebecca calls "medical torture"—including overdoses her daughter on Fentanyl and a deadly cocktail of dugs, and improper use of a ventilator—Danielle's untimely death was decisions by the medical staff.
Rebecca found her mission: to expose and combat what she characterizes as a "medical hospital holocaust." Driven by the memory of her daughter and the collective stories of countless others who have suffered similar fates, Rebecca established http://www.deathbyhospitalprotocol.com/. This platform serves as a critical resource for individuals to share their harrowing experiences with hospitals, medical offices, and healthcare professionals adhering to protocols that result in patient harm.
Understanding the power of technology in modern advocacy, she developed the "Death by Hospital Protocol" app, available world-wide on both iPhones and Android devices. This innovative tool is designed to build a database that patients can consult before seeking medical treatment, empowering them with information to make informed healthcare decisions.
Faced with the failure of attorneys to take on her daughter's case, she filed the lawsuit herself just 1.11 minutes before the statute of limitations expired. She is seeking legal representation, hoping that by sharing her story, the right attorney will come forward to bring justice for her daughter.
Rebecca's fight for transparency, justice, and change in a system fraught with secrecy and unaccountability. By sharing her story and creating platforms for others to do the same, she challenges the status quo of medical practice protocols and advocates for a system where patient safety and well-being are paramount.
It is time for those in white coats to understand that we will utilize social media to expose anyone who has harmed their patients.
