Yellen Says China Isn't ‘Playing by the Rules’ on Trade

05/13/2024 US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen interviewed by Bloomberg Television: China is really not playing by the rules on trade. They have enormous subsidies in critical areas of advanced manufacturing, which has resulted in overcapacity. In such cases, we will take action to protect ourselves. We do not wish to disengage from China economically, but we do think that the playing field should be fair.
