XMEN 97 Is WAY BETTER Than You Thought! Pop Culture Friday

This is going to be a special stream in celebration of Pop Culture Friday! Instead of diving into the deep dark realities of the world, we are going to take break and have a much needed discussion around the role that the new Xmen '97 animated show plays in pop culture. I will be joined by friend of the channel Guamtek who is a big comic book and anime fan unlike myself, so he will be able to offer a differnt perspective in terms of what this show says about the larger television/movie landscape in general, as well as the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe,

Xmen '97 took a popular kid's show from the 90s and updated it for the people who grew up with the show to deliever a more raw and adult version of these characters. While there was definitely the typical backlash about wokeness and the "M-SHE-U" I think this is a good sign that things might be turning around, and even if we never reach the heights of the Infinity Saga, there might still be hope for Marvel to tell great stories. And because Marvel and Disney are at the helm of movie-making, they are the trend maers. If they are better at making well written movies, people won't care if there are woke elements becuse all people want at the end of the day is a good story to follow
