Gnat Fighting with Blue Fiber

Using a digital microscope to look at a gnat fighting with a blue fiber.
The fiber seems to display determined, purposeful movement while the gnat's legs seem to be fighting with each other, some seeming to want to hold the fiber while some seem to want the gnat to let go of the fiber.
The insect vs fiber activity is one of the strangest things I've recorded, and I have recorded this happening with other insects including gnats, fruit flies, an ant and a honeybee.
