One of the biggest sins of Mortal Kombat: Annihilation is its complete disregard for the source material. Fans of the iconic video game franchise will be left fuming as beloved characters are butchered beyond recognition. From the laughable portrayal of the shape-shifting reptilian ninja Reptile to the cringe-inducing dialogue spouted by the thunder god Raiden, this film takes everything that made the Mortal Kombat games great and throws it out the window.

Now, let's talk about the special effects, or lack thereof, in Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. As a film released in 1997, one would expect at least a modicum of decent CGI. So, should you watch Mortal Kombat: Annihilation? Only if you have a high tolerance for pain and a strong stomach for cinematic atrocities. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and steer clear of this trainwreck of a movie. Stick to the video games and the original Mortal Kombat film if you want to experience the true essence of the franchise.
