An Iranian state television correspondent who accompanied Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi during his visit to the Iran-Azerbaijan border reported details about the helicopter accident with the president.

"We are located near the Songun copper mine in the city of Varzgan. The helicopter's GPS shows that it made a hard landing, there is heavy fog, visibility is about 5-6 meters, it is extremely difficult to drive through this area, and only a few vehicles can reach the scene “This complicates the situation,” the correspondent said on the state TV channel IRIB.

"I was not in the helicopter and I returned by car. The President was accompanied by 3 helicopters, two helicopters returned. The President was supposed to go to this city to open a project at the Tabriz oil refinery.
