Today's Terrible Judge: Cristina Miranda

A #Miami-Dade County judge, #CristinaMiranda , granted bond for a Miami Beach substitute rabbi facing child molestation charges in 2015.

Judge Cristina Miranda set bond for #SteveKarro, 55, at $50,000 and set restrictions for the well-known #MiamiBeach rabbi, who molested an 11-year old girl and then offered her mother $500 to drop the charges. Karro remained on house arrest and wore a monitoring device before having all his charges expunged in 2017.

Miranda also told Karro not to contact his alleged victim and not to have any unsupervised interaction with children.

"He's very strong. He knows he is innocent of any wrongdoing," said Karro's attorney, Jeff Weiner, who added he and prosecutors agreed Karro should be released.

Karro was originally arrested and released from jail because of a mistake police made in listing the charges. Prosecutors noticed the mistake and asked that Karro be re-arrested.
