The cyber attack on the computer system of Ascension Hospitals

Officials say some ambulances are being diverted to other hospitals for certain medical needs. Also affected are diagnostic imaging procedures and filling prescription orders. The attack was discovered on May 8th and the hospital system has switched to using manual paperwork. Ascension emergency rooms are open and accepting walk-ins but officials say they are working with EMS providers to make certain incoming patients are treated effectively.
