Stabilization With Catalyst Software - How Does It Look?

I used the Sony ZV1 Mark II Camera and did a walk around the back yard. I took the clip and ran it thru a free software called Sony Catalyst Browse. I put the clips side by side and you can see two different things. The first is the cropping. When you do ANY kind of stabilization there is always a crop factor to trim the "dirty edges" as the video is tossed around. The second thing to look at is to see exactly how good (or how bad) the stabilization really looks.

To me it looks better than I expected! The plus is it did a GREAT job - I'll buy it :) On the other hand, even though the software is free to use, Sony decided to slip it's wings and in my opinion WAY too much. BAD SONY!!!

You can stabilize and there is no limits on time. You can do 4K too. The program will NOT do 10 bit output though. They change your 10 bit files to 8 bits. And to add insult to injury - you don't even get told it is happening!

But wait - there's more!!! The program will only do ONE CLIP AT A TIME. You can't make a "list" or a Que and have it do all the clips while you walk away. Nope. It's a onesy only operation!

If I sound sour grapes, I think the lack of a que feature is really a sin. Even though they will do a clip for you in only 8 bit, I do think they need to separate the free software from the paid version (NOT CHEAP!!!) But no que - lol, Sony made an idiotic choice there and shut down one of the strong points none of the other companies have. Typical 5th Grader dumb choices from a child like mentality. I bet Sony loves me now heh heh.
