The Symbolism of the Falcon, Horus and the Story of Osiris

The Falcon or Hawk was traditionally the bird of Mars and associated as a consequence with war. There are two major themes running through the symbolism of the falcon or hawk. The first is its role as an archetype and the second is the part it plays in the Egyptian Story of Osiris, where it is named Horus.
