A day on Venus is longer than a year on Venus?
Ever wondered how a day on Venus could be longer than a year on Venus? In this video, we’ll explore the fascinating reasons behind this unique phenomenon. 🌌✨
Venus rotates incredibly slowly on its axis, taking about 243 Earth days to complete one full spin. Meanwhile, it only takes Venus 225 Earth days to orbit the Sun. This means that a single day on Venus—sunrise to sunset—is longer than an entire Venusian year!
And that's not all! Venus also rotates in the opposite direction of its orbit, known as retrograde rotation. So, on Venus, the Sun rises in the west and sets in the east.
Join us as we dive into the science behind Venus's slow rotation and retrograde motion, and discover why this planet stands out in our Solar System.
