Putin plans to seize the Swedish island of Gotland in order to gain control of the Baltic Sea, - Commander-in-Chief of the Swedish Army Mikael Büden in an interview with RND

He stated that due to the increase in Russian aggression around the world, Sweden was forced to arm Gotland: “it is protected through units permanently stationed there and the deployment of additional forces [in case of danger].”

Russia is also allegedly interested in the Åland Islands. “The Russians are closely monitoring what is happening at the entrances and exits to the Baltic Sea”
