One of seven tunes for the "virtual internet audition" for drumming on a cruise ship, this was take 2 of 2. There was both a track and chart provided which means that this is a reading gig and there is no negotiation on that point which gives one yet another reason to be able to read musical notation.

Specific to this recording; The chart was a horn chart photocopied out of the REAL book meaning that there was no drum notation. They wanted to hear some latin and swing drumming and On Green Dolphin Street is ideal for demonstrating this. The form was to be played a few times through and the fact that the click came in on beats 2 & 4 during the section where I was trading 8 bar phrases, known as trading 8s, well I found that amusing but very necessary. BTW, if we were trading four bar phrases, that is known as trading 4s.
