One of seven tunes for the "virtual internet audition" for drumming on a cruise ship, this was take 2 of 2. There was both a track and chart provided which means that this is a reading gig and there is no negotiation on that point which gives one yet another reason to be able to read musical notation.

Specific to this recording; This is one song which I have little experience playing and the tune can be very deceptive as to where the beat actually is, probably due to the bass guitar part being on the upbeats and with "wah" guitar part being on the beat. Just FYI, there was no click track on any of these songs, throughout the songs and some sparse click at best on about 3 of them at most. This gives another reason as to why your time must be immaculate as Ray Luzier once stated. The EXACT drum part to be played was notated and this isn't negotiable. The cruise line is paying me, not me paying them which makes them the producer and it isn't their privilege to have me playing drums. It is a privilege to be chosen to play drums on a cruise ship, and getting paid to do so is a rare profession so showing up with a great attitude is paramount.

In that respect, it IS a JOB and I'm there to deliver and you're either on the ship or you're not. This cannot be done as a hobby, part-time, or in your spare time. This is lost on most musicians....
