Prince of Peace or Man of War?

There are many camps in Christianity that have embraced the unbiblical doctrine of pacifism. Yet our Lord according to the Bible is himself a "Lord of War". How can Christ be a Lord of war and a Prince of Peace? Every memorial day you are sure to see the quote of Jesus Christ, "No greater love hath any man then that he would give his life for his friends". We honor those whose lives were sacrificed in battle in defense of our nation and Christ Jesus is the example of the soldier extraordinaire who as the great commander of the host of heaven gave His life that your life would be saved.
