COINTELPRO - Citizens Who Want Peace are the Enemy

If you've never heard of COINTELPRO it wouldn't surprise me as most people likely haven't. That doesn't change the significance of it or how it has progressed into a Special Access Program unbeknownst to even Congress whom is supposed to be the oversight of such.

What is COINTELPRO? COINTELPRO is a term coined from the combination phrase Counter Intelligence Program which was originally operated by the FBI as a covert action program against domestic dissidents. The program utilized a variety of surreptitious methods of monitoring select groups of people who were considered a "threat" to the country's focus on war and continuance of government. The program is believed to have began in the late 1950's and is known to have utilized infiltration, psychological warfare, and abuse of the legal system, and violence in its efforts to achieve their desired goals.

The program focused on the Civil Rights Movement, The Women's Rights Movement, The Anti-War movement, The Environmental Movement, and overall any progressive group that arose in American society. Ironically each one of the movements it focused on happened to be a noble and worthy cause that was logical and borne of a displeasure of the improper focus of resources that the government had begun to implement in order to keep their financial the narrative of fear active so they can continue to receive Billions in funding.

In fact the death of Martin Luther King Jr was proven in a court case when his family sued. The lawsuit prompted documents to be released that previously would never have seen the light of day. These documents detailed a variety of things being that the FBI was monitoring him and actively attacking his personal life up to the murder which was actually planned out and implemented by J. Edgar Hoover.
