Interesting 🤔 just like actors using a stage name. I believe he means their ancestors haven't lived in this territory for 2 millenia. That's 2,000 years. Why wouldn't you keep your family name to prove your ancestry? And why wouldn't you be proud of your last name enough to keep it?

What are they trying to hide, conceal from the public? Their radical political history? They don't want to be identified by something in their family history linked politically.
