D-Day 80th Anniversary Commemoration - Plus Midway at 82

Lest we forget, 2024 sees a continuing series of 80th anniversaries of the events of the Second World War.

Operation Neptune, The D-Day invasion of Normandy, part of Operation Overlord commenced 80 years ago on June 6th 1944.

This marked the start of the liberation of France and Western Europe and the beginning of the end of the German occupation.

We will also be marking the 82nd anniversary of the Battle of Midway which was fought between June 3rd and 6th 1942 and marked the beginning of the end of the Japanese Empire in the Pacific.

Join us as we commemorate the bravery and sacrifice of the forces who took part. We will also take a look at the portrayal of these monumental events in movies and TV. As well as taking a little look at my personal connection to D-Day.
