Are We Wrong About Hitler??

It's widely held to be true that Adolf Hitler exterminated 6 million Jews in Europe in the 30s and 40s. However, is that even historically possible? We're there even that many Jews in all of Europe during the 30s and 40s?? We know the Bolsheviks were Jews that revolted against the Czars in Russia post WW1. So perhaps Adolf Hitler and the Nazis were trying to avoid the same fate in Germany what took place in Russia...
