Climate vs Contrast

A guy sitting in the gym between sets tells me it's 102° out. I didn't believe him. Then he mentioned the heat index. Like most people he repeats the highest temperature he heard for effect. The heat index down here is always, (every time I check) exactly 10° hotter. Doesn't matter which weather station is reporting. If the temp reports 88° the heat index is 98°. You already know I don't buy it. I already shared the Louisiana heat wave story; over 100° for a week.
There's a lot of shade down here and an almost constant breeze. So what about the wind chill factor? That's another weather mind weapon they conjured up out of nowhere. Wind chill didn't exist when I was a kid, and it didn't show up when I was bleeding fuel injectors on front end loaders in sub-freezing temps overseas.
The only reason we talk about mind manipulation so much in this series is to protect you from freaking out and making a fatal decision.
Anyway, we'll get into why it seems so hot when the outside temp isn't much more than normal body temperature & why people get summer sniffles.
