Watch Giuliani SMASH Stephanopoulos Gotcha Question “It’s okay to lie to the press?”

Stephanopoulos pressed Giuliani on the president’s April 5 comments denying knowledge of the Stormy Daniels payment. The ex-New York City Mayor downplayed the remarks.

“What is said to the press, that’s political.” Giuliani said.

“It’s okay to lie to the press?” Stephanopoulos asked.

“Uh, gee. I don’t know,” Giuliani said, sarcastically. “You know a few presidents who did that. I don’t think this president has done that.”

Giuliani seemed to be making a clear reference to the ABC anchor’s time working for President Bill Clinton as White House Communications Director. Stephanopoulos, however, did not take the bait and the interview proceeded.
