In the United States of America, only 5% of the total population tithes.
Within church members, the average is 10-15% tithe.
Christians during the great depression were tithing an average of 3.3% of their income.
Today's Christians tithe an average of 2.5% of their income to the church.

We are not advocating for you to go into debt in order to tithe, and if there a pastor that is telling you to give 10% even if you have to borrow or put your bills on your credit card because you've given that 10% to the church. The Lord will make you a lender and not a borrower [https://www.bible.com/bible/111/deu.28.12]. So if you do not have the money to tithe, how do you tithe?

You can tithe with your time and your talents.
