Trying to snag a very curious Gar fish🐋

Today while at the pier I spotted a big gar floating near the bank. It kept getting closer and closer. It was watching me fishing. It came over towards me. Thus video was the second time that I pulled the hook across his back. That time he really chased my bait. In this video I did hook the thinner flesh of the tail. Which isn’t thick enough to pull him in with. I didn’t catch him but it was a cool interaction with other animal species. 🐬🤠
