The one drop rule, a social and legal principle, asserts that any person with any ancestor who has contributed blood to a family makes that family part of that group. This rule was associated with the principle of "invisible blackness" in some states, which was an example of hypodesecent, the automatic assignment of children of a mixed union between different socioeconomic or ethnic groups to the group with the lower status, regardless of proportion of ancestry in the different groups. The entire human race originated from three people: Shem, Ham, and Japheth, sons of Noah. The one drop rule defines us because it comes from Jesus, who came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ. The Spirit bears witness, as the Spirit is truth. The one drop rule also applies to us, as faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. The one drop of Christ's blood is the evidence of things not seen and the substance of things hoped for.
