The Believers (1987) Exorcist III-The Fly II-Daughdrill Timeline Loop | Brujeria & The Elite

SPOILER ALERT: If you've never seen John Schlesinger's film The Believers (1987) & care about whether or not I reveal plot lines...don't watch this until 'after' you've seen the film. I'm basically going to just play most of the first hour with commentary and add some extra material to it.

What makes this more compelling for me is discovering yet another Timeline Loop connecting The Believers to Exorcist III which has all the clues connecting the Daughdrill homicide to Menace II Society...difficult to explain here and I'll be doing that in more detail within this stream. You'll need to watch some of the material about Menace II Society and Daughdrill if the Timeline Loop part matters to you. Otherwise this will stand as a deep dive occult analysis on The Believers...

After the death of his wife, police psychiatrist Cal Jamison moves to New York. There he has to help in the investigation of the murder of two youths, who seem to have been immolated during a cult ritual. Jamison believes it's been Voodoo and, ignoring the warnings of his housekeeper, enters the scenery and soon gets under their influence. They try to get him to sacrifice his own son.

What makes this interesting is that one of the men who tries to induct Martin Sheen's character in the cult also plays a small part as a priest in the opening of The Exorcist III...his character says his favorite film is "The Fly"...and it turns out the boy who is going to be sacrificed by his character in The Believers...is also in The Fly II.
