Multiple dead animals found dead in vehicle in northwest Las Vegas Valley

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police are investigating after multiple animals were found dead in a vehicle Tuesday afternoon.

The incident was reported just after 3 p.m. in the 3100 block of N. Tenaya Way, near Cheyenne Avenue. LVMPD said the call was initially about a dog found in a car. When officers arrived, they found multiple deceased animals dead inside a vehicle.

LVMPD said one person is in custody. Animal Cruelty section is investigating.

The investigation comes as the Las Vegas Valley is in an excessive heat warning through Wednesday night.
