CFTR 680 News Toronto Stuttering Mispronouncing Reporterettes

ORLANDO, FLORIDA (May 26, 2024). It's bad enough that the pathetic, insufferable government propaganda organ, 680 News (CFTR), which is Rogers' Toronto outpost, wastes its listeners time with a "story" about some website featuring a half-shrimp and half-Jesus creature.

But the bingo caller reading the story can't even pronounce "crustacean." She calls it a "kristican."

For those of us old enough to remember such legendary Toronto newswomen as Betty Kennedy, Erin Davis, Evelyn Macko and Marlane Oliver (to name but a few), this really is a sad reflection on what the corporate media has become.

The days of radio hiring the most professional, intelligent, honest (hopefully) people as announcers has long past.

No wonder corporate media is circling the toilet.

This criticism is not confined to 680 News. It's the entire radio and television broadcasting industry across Canada and the United States. It's frankly insulting.

The only reason I periodically listen - as I now live in Orlando - is to keep updated on what is going on back in Canada. And thanking my lucky stars - screwed up as America is - I don't have to deal with it any longer.
