Many view Christ’s Sermon on the Mount as the end-all, be-all of the doctrine for the Church today. But is that true? Are we to keep the commandments of the Sermon on the Mount? Are we doing it in truth? Perhaps there is an application to this message that contains more than meets the eye. Let’s examine the Sermon on the Mount and its proper application to Israel in Part 1 of this series.

Takeaway:
We should see a distinct difference between the gospel of the kingdom and the gospel of grace by now. Therefore, the Sermon on the Mount most accurately applies to Israel’s national salvation. There are certainly spiritual applications to be made, but they must be in accordance with the Scriptures as written. We cannot apply them willy-nilly. Next week, we will continue our examination of the Sermon on the Mount to learn more about what Christ taught Israel and how it applies to us today.
