LGBTQ Pride march in “war-torn” Kiev - Bringing up questions

An LGBTQ Pride March in war-shrouded Ukraine is highly questionable.
If people are really suffering from a war, they have no time for marches like this.
Zelensky is always talking about the lack of man power, but obviously the gay soldiers in the march were exempt from duty, instead of fighting in the frontline.
So, why do we have so many Ukrainian “refugees” in Europe when still marches like this can be organized in the country they fled from?
