The Complete Story of Africans in Texas from 1528

In direct contradiction of the notion that Africans arrived in the Colonies in 1619, in reality they were here over 90 years before that in Texas and Florida, both Spanish colonies at the time. There were more than 340 black townships created across this long history. In anticipation of the Juneteenth national holiday, we seek to tell a more complete story of Afro-Texas that is much more comprehensive and important to our long Maafa Journey.
