A Glitch in The Matrix: I Jumped Realities

Melissa talks about her glitch in the matrix experience. Did she jump timelines, like quantum leap, or did she actually die and somehow lived on or did she cheat death? It very much could be all three.

Melissa was driving home on sunset blvd like usual nothing out of the ordinary. That was until she crested a small hill and was faced with an impossible decision. A car had spun out of control right in front of her, and beside her another vehicle. She had no where to go without impeding doom. As Terror took over she clutched the wheel and swerved into the other lane where the other car was, she closed her eyes bracing for impact and screamed out in Terror, I'm not ready to die yet!!

There was no crash no accident she was in her car stopped on sunset blvd, and she was alive..? She took note of all her surroundings and noticed that no one was there, no cars no people no traffic. The roads were empty, the car that was spun out was gone. She had found a way into a glitch in the matrix. Mellisa drove home and didn't encounter any other vehicles, and on a Saturday night on sunset blvd that's impossible.
She got home and found no one on the streets. Her roommate was gone as well.
She ended up calling a friend and asking some terrifying questions, such as am I dead, who am I, what year is it.

Mellisa found a gap in space and time and slipped through. She quantum leaped into another reality another timeline. And what happened to the Melissa of this timeline this reality, did she die in the car accident? This was definitely a glitch in the matrix. But how did it happen, why did it happen?
