Prevention of Newly-Discovered Underlying Cause of Lithium Battery Fires Preview
1 year ago

In June 2024, Rob's Repairs and a Master Electrical Engineer in Alabama discovered AC ripples from a battery charger exceeding 70 volts; not its stated 33-volt DC output. Fortunately, a safety feature in one particular stairlift model prevented what could have been a fireball, such as the one that killed Tim Lilley and others.
Furthermore, the battery charger under test in Alabama voided home insurance policy. It has since been removed.
Two weeks later, Rob came up with a $90 preventive measure that is applicable to all battery chargers.
A tenant's lithium fire cost a Richmond landlord $74K in court. His insurer did not defend him. However, money cannot bring back Tim Lilley
